Meeting the needs of our vulnerable residents is at the heart of our Independent Living Team. Our team work hard to ensure that every single one of our residents has easy access to the support and care that they need to remain living independently for as long as possible.

Their need for support doesn't end at 5pm and our small but dedicated Mobile Warden team provide an invaluable sevice, 24 hours a day providing a monitoring and 24 hour emergency response service for our sheltered housing and community alarm clients in the borough of Welwyn Hatfield.

You will be the first response in emergencies, reacting quickly to calls and providing advice and guidance, as well as making the necessary calls to the required services and family members.

It is essential that you maintain and update comprehensive records for our residents, ensuring that all appropriate parties have up to date information. Continuing to observe GDPR and data protection guidelines.

Above all else, it will be up to you to promote and secure the independence, dignity, security, privacy and wellbeing of all residents that you interact with.

To be a success in this role, experience of dealing with vulnerable people is a clear advantage. You’ll be expected to be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the challenges experienced and how they can be addressed within the services available.

You’ll also be able to build highly effective working relationships with clients and other professionals. Due to the nature of the job, it is essential that you have a current driving licence and use of a car. The post is also subject to a DBS check.

Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council pride themselves on their commitment to their people – striving to ensure that each and every employee feels valued and happy in their work. Employees are empowered to influence and transform the services they deliver, no matter what level they’re at.
