Position Overview & Specifications

We are looking to appoint a Research Assistant to work on an innovative interventional clinical trial evaluating the efficacy and mechanism of pramipexole as add-on treatment for people with treatment resistant depression. The role will require regular in-person and remote contact with patients taking part in the trial, assisting with participant recruitment and study clinic visits, conducting semi-structured interviews and administering questionnaires and cognitive tasks.

You will be based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital, Oxford but the role will involve remote contact with participants and trial sites around the UK.

The post is for a fixed term (funded for 12 months).

You will have a degree in Psychology or a related subject with a strong interest in mental illness and its treatment. You will have either demonstrable experience conducting psychological assessments and behavioural questionnaires, or equivalent experience of data management and administration within a clinical trial or clinical research project. With good interpersonal skills you will have the ability to interact productively and accurately with trial participants and other team members. The post will provide excellent experience of clinically relevant research and could suit a person interested in going on to either clinical psychology training or further research.

You will be required to upload a covering letter/supporting statement and a CV as part of your application.

The closing date for this post is 12.00 midday on Wednesday 15th March 2023.
