Hybrid working - office and home working
Key Responsibilities:
- Working as part of an Agile development team to bring new features and functions to Sharp software solutions
- Development of backend code in Java
- Support and input of software architecture design
- Develop PoC code for feature advancement or tender requests
- Update user documentation on new features
- Update localisation resources for new features
- Assist in evaluation or quality assurance activities to maintain software quality
- Participate in, and facilitate Agile ceremonies
- Participate and assist in development planning activities
Experience / Qualifications
Essential:
- Several years’ experience in software development with strong Java skills
- Demonstrable experience of backend programming with Java, PostgreSQL and Rest APIs
- Good experience with software design patterns such as MVC, Singleton, Factory, Publish/Subscribe
- Excellent collaboration, analytical and communication skills
- Clear communication in the English language, both spoken and written; with a technical emphasis.
Desirable:
- Experience working in an agile development team
- SOAP and WDSL
- Programming in C#
- Web languages such as HTML, CSS, Java
- Javascript libraries such as React, Vue, Angular
- Azure knowledge
- Experience with GIT
- Working with virtual images would be an advantage
- Previous setting up of operating systems on servers
- Working knowledge of Wireshark network trace PHP, SQL, PostgreSQL
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP and SSL/TSL
- PJL/PCL/Postscript
- Experience in working with virtual images
