Flexible hybrid working from home with a base at one of our offices in: London, Coventry, or Manchester.

With over 189,000 colleagues who are critical to the long-term success of our business, we are committed to being an inclusive employer where everybody is treated fairly and with respect and are encouraged to develop their skills and fulfil their potential.

We are passionate about playing an active role in our communities and are committed to championing human rights and have high ethical standards that we and our suppliers adhere to.

So wherever you join us, you can take pride in making a real difference to millions of customers’ lives.

Our amazing Supplier Relationship Leads work closely with the Supplier Relationship Manager to deliver supplier governance, process creation and management whilst also providing assistance and contractual insight for Sainsburys business stakeholders.

The role supports the execution of our strategic contract management capability to deliver supplier performance, continuous improvement, value and first to market innovation. You will be a key contact for Sainsbury’s with the opportunity to manage suppliers and enhance the relationships to influence and drive supplier strategy and direction to strengthen our market position. Developing strong connections with internal Sainsbury’s business stakeholders and 3rd party logistics suppliers will be key in ensuring we are performing to requirements and expectation as well as identifying where Sainsburys Business Services can add value.

What you Need to Know & Show:

  • Experience in working as part of a cross-functional team and influencing others to land business change.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, able to influence a range of stakeholders and build trusted relationships across our organisation and 3rd party logistics service providers.
  • Maintaining and improving supplier performance: understand how suppliers are performing, working with the Supplier Relationship Manager to address supplier performance issues and contribute to supplier continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong Microsoft software packages skills including Excel & PowerPoint (essential)
  • Comfortable making decisions based on incomplete data and information in the absence of clear frameworks and guidance to operate from.
  • Interpret stakeholder needs to develop processes which will enable optimal running of the contract(s)
  • Highly organised and demonstration of good prioritisation
  • First rate written and verbal communication skills.

We offer a wide range of flexible learning opportunities, designed to inspire colleagues to learn and grow throughout their Sainsbury’s career. Our learning offer – described as excellent in our most recent Investor’s in People report - is openly available to all colleagues and enables them to personalise their learning journey and learn in the best way for them.

Work-life balance is important to us, so we offer our colleagues as much flexibility as possible in line with the needs of their role. We trust them to decide how, where and when they work, combining remote and collaborative working with a flexible approach to hours, giving them plenty of time and space for life outside of work whilst delivering against our business goals.

If being part of a hugely influential team and working for a fantastic Supermarket with a 150 year history wasn’t enough, you’ll also receive a host of great benefits, a competitive salary and a huge range of learning and development opportunities: Click here for more detail on our benefits: https://sainsburys.jobs/working-for-us/benefits/
