The Club

The Oxford and Cambridge Club is an exclusive private members Club with a Grade II*-listed Clubhouse in central London. The Club has 46 bedrooms, a fine dining restaurant, 3 banqueting suites, 2 bars, 2 squash courts, a billiard room and extensive libraries. The Club has nearly 5000 members.

The Role

We are recruiting for a Banqueting Waiter to join the Banqueting team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role. We are looking for someone who is highly personable, passionate about delivering five star service in a busy working environment. The role is a full time position working 40 hours per week, any 5 days out of 7 including evenings, weekends and public holidays.

The Person

Able to work shifts including (weekdays, weekends, mornings and evenings)
Previous experience in conference and Banqueting is an advantage
Be punctual, polite, courteous and helpful to Members and colleagues at all times.
Reliable, professional and good team player.
Able to work unsupervised.
Good communications skills with good spoken and written English.

Main Duties

Proactive in dealing with members requests
Able to help set up function rooms
Running small banqueting functions and liaising closely on the day with the members.
Moving tables and chairs
Polishing crockery, cutlery and glasses
Checking that all equipment is in full working order before the member’s arrival
Ensure service standards are being adhered to at all times.
Setting up buffet tables
Undertake Club and legal standards for cleanliness and maintain within the department.
Be aware of responsibility for the security of the members and Club property.
