Due to an organic growth within our business, we are seeking a talented Quality Control Officer to join the business. This is a new role within our business and we require an individual who shows initiative and is flexible. Therefore, ability to work with all departments is key.

Who you are:

The successful candidate must be a motivated individual with a hands-on approach as well as a good understanding of the principle and practices of food handling and a proactive attitude is a key for this role. Background (studies or working experience) in food safety/quality required. Experience in a fast-moving Food Manufacturing environment. Basic understanding of BRCGS requirements, Health & Safety, Food Safety, Food Hygiene, HACCP, COSHH

Duties will include:

Carrying out quality checks on all the areas of the production line (finished products, raw material, fridge/freezer temperatures checks) and record on correct paperwork
Record the traceability on the line
Coach team members to ensure they are able to carry out duties in a safe manner
Monitoring standards of personal hygiene, housekeeping, food safety, traceability, allergen
Check that the stock rotation (FIFO) is respected
Completing all documentation required accurately and promptly
Work side by side with the production and shift leaders to ensure that the food safety standard and the quality of the products are met
Following and understanding the HACCP procedures
Collecting and preparing any samples as and when requires
Assess key raw materials, work in progress components and finished product against written quality parameters
Assist in Customer complaint investigations, corrective actions

Salary: £10.00-£12.00 per hour
