Position Overview & Specifications

This job is based in Bexleyheath, DA6 Ref NT/LMOT
All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK. We cannot, unfortunately, offer sponsorship for any of our roles. Our delightful, 10-year-old client with Cerebral Palsy is looking for a kind, calm Support Worker to care for her complex needs. N loves spending time with her family and Care Team and finds great pleasure in listening to and attending weekly music therapy.
The Role:
Our client has complex physical and cognitive needs arising from a brain injury acquired at birth and as such requires 24-hour care. She is non-weight bearing and a full-time wheelchair user so would require hoisting for all transfers.
N receives all her nutrition, fluids, and medication via her PEG/JEG and would require full personal care.
Being non-verbal N uses sounds, gestures, and facial expressions to communicate and a great way for her to express herself is through her sensory toys and related activities.
About You:
  • N would love a happy, energetic young (or young at heart) person with whom to build a relationship.
  • Ideally, you will have experience supporting a child with an Acquired Brain Injury/Cerebral Palsy and with hoisting and PEG/JEG feeding. However, please do still apply even if you have limited experience in these areas as full training will be provided. You will be supported by a Case Manager and the Care Team for her one-to-one care.
  • You need to be a very calm, caring individual with a positive outlook. You will need to be reliable and willing to work with N’s Therapists, following her care plan to help her achieve her rehabilitation goals.

Pay:
  • £16 per hour on weekdays
  • £17 per hour weekends

Hours / Shifts:
Waking night shift 7 pm – 7 am (12 hours) Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays are available – please apply to state on which days you’re interested. Additional/bank hours to cover holidays/staff absences are often available.
