Position Overview & Specifications
This is a Trust Doctor (non-training) Level 2 post equivalent to ST3 and above.
Duties include -
- Working on AMU - continuous assessment and review of new admissions and unstable patients.
- SSW - performing ward rounds, procedures, assisting junior team members, communication with patients / family.
- SDEC - reviewing new patients and returns.
- AMU / 'HOT' clinic - reviews after investigations / discharge.
- Participate in the General (Internal) Medicine on call rota.
- Contributing to the clinical governance - audit, service improvement projects, teaching rota.
- To participate in Continuous Medical Education (CME) and maintain a portfolio for revalidation.
- Use specialty session to develop skills according to need - one four-hour session given per week (opportunities include medical high dependency / stroke).
- Complete admin work / letters from clinical activity.
- Maintain mandatory training.
