Position Overview & Specifications

Connected Carers is a brand new start-up funded by Innovate UK, and we're in the process of finalising our community platform.

We're looking for a Wordpress Developer to join us part-time, 10-20 hours per week, to help complete and customise our platform ready to onboard our first major charity communities.

Ideally you would be available for an immediate or short-term start.

We'll need your help to add custom functionality not provided out of the box by the BuddyBoss community platform theme, such as:

Building a custom dashboard for each user that visualises their self-reported wellness, mental health data
Building our onboarding and regular data gathering flow, to gather data from community members at set intervals
Making the website and platform accessible for users with visual or hearing impairments
Creating and publishing app bundles for Android and iOS, via the BuddyBoss app generation functionality (turning our website into React Native apps)
Developing a feature to make dynamic / custom recommendations for user-to-user connections, based on demographics, conditions, circumstances etc., to help people find the best connections
Customising the platform to meet the moderation and other requirements of charity partners that want to move their community to the CC platform

Working Arrangements

This will be a remote, part-time role, with an expected commitment of 10-20 hours per week on an ongoing basis.

You’ll be working directly with the 2 co-founders - Jack Jenkins (head of product and communities) and Dr Simon Wan Yau Ming (head of research and business development). We also have a top-class designer available to provide any design required.

This may evolve into a full-time role by mutual agreement, should business needs for site development and maintenance increase.
