About The Role

The role of 'Sewing Machinist & Fabric Cutter' within the mattress factory is a key one in order to facilitate the smooth running of the factory. The job holder will initially report to the MD, Angie Curl.

Responsibilities

Oversea the work flow as directed on the weekly P&T list
Take product specifications and fabric choices from the customer’s works order form
Prepare mattress panels and boarders via cutting and sewing to the products specification
Prepare divan and bedstead base cases by cutting and sewing as directed on the works order
All finished work will be fed to the factories senior mattress maker and upholster

Candidate requirements

Reliable, conscientious worker able to produce work to time and consistently high standards
Experienced user of flat bed sewing machines
Excellent ability to measure and cut fabric panels to specification
The ability to work unsupervised and efficiently organise your own daily work schedule

Salary: £6.95-£12.00 per hour

Application question(s):

Experienced user of industrial sewing machines and fabric pattern and panel cutting. This may include having been a curtain maker, seamstress or even very keen home / DIY seamstress. Must have experience of using electrically powered sewing machines

Experience:
