Position Overview & Specifications

We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing accurate and timely estimates for a variety of residential construction projects, including new bathrooms, kitchens, and extensions, as well as home adaptations for elderly or disabled peoples homes.

Responsibilities:

Review project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate and detailed estimates for a variety of residential construction projects.
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other construction professionals to identify project requirements and develop estimates that meet client expectations.
Prepare detailed take-offs of materials and labor costs for all aspects of the project, including plumbing, electrical, and structural work.
Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess project requirements and gather information for accurate estimating.
Prepare and submit detailed proposals to clients, including cost breakdowns and project schedules.

Requirements:

Strong experience in construction estimating, with a focus on residential projects.
Familiarity with construction techniques and materials, especially as they relate to new bathrooms, kitchens, and extensions, as well as home adaptations for elderly or disabled peoples homes.
Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred.
