ADE Power Ltd is a fast-growing industrial manufacturing business working with some of the world’s largest companies in the data centre, power generation, battery storage and infrastructure. Primarily, ADE provides generator and switchgear acoustic housings and is responsible for the design, manufacture, installation, and service of our unique products .

The business opened an Australian facility last year and is likely to continue its expansion to the US and Europe in the near future. ADE was acquired in 2021 by an Industrial Manufacturing Investment Group who specialises in high growth global manufacturing businesses. The growth in data centres, electrification and critical power will mean this is an exciting growing industry for people to build a career.

To support our continued growth, we are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team.

Job Summary / Purpose of Role

The successful candidate will support our engineering team in both internal and external design reviews within a defined scope and timescale.

Job Responsibilities / Key Accountabilities

Produce detailed 3D design packages and fabrication / manufacturing detailed drawings.
Ensure that the areas of works are completed in accordance with contract specifications.
Plan, perform, monitor, and report on assigned tasks and deliverables.
Provide updates to stakeholders on tasks assigned.
Participate in cost reduction.
Use Solidworks utilising parts and assemblies.

Person Requirements : Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

Essential
Previous experience within the industry or similar industries i.e., Mechanical.
Fabrication, Power Generation O&G, Energy and Electrical.
Previous experience in an industrial or manufacturing company within a similar role.
Comfortable working on a number of projects simultaneously, to schedules in a fast paced environment.
Experience in sheet metal / structural engineering.
Produce bill of materials.
Adhering to quality procedures.

Education, Qualifications and Affiliations

Apprenticeship trained or HNC Mechanical Engineering (or other Engineering discipline)
3D CAD Packages, Preferred Solidworks and AutoCAD

Desirable

BEng/BSc Mechanical Engineering (or other Engineering discipline)
Understanding of acoustic and air flow packages.
Experience within steel modular canopies.
Understanding and manipulation of design verification calculations e.g., acoustic, structural and heat & ventilation.
Understanding of generators and switchgear.

Salary: £35,000 to £60,000 per year based on experience, qualifications and education
